I am one of the first to admit that I am rarely happy with the weather. I usually gripe when Fall comes because it means Winter is just right around the corner. Never seems like it lasts long enough to enjoy it. This year is different. We’ve had cold days and we’ve had a bit of snow, but overall, we’re getting absolutely beautiful weather. I’m thrilled!
It’s making our walking challenge much more doable. Dare and I still have 87 more miles to go to meet our 1000 mile goal. We could have walked to Texas by now. LOL Course if we had walked straight to Texas we might need to look up an Austin Veterinarian to take a look at our feet/paws. I think we’ll stick with our 4 miles a day, instead.
I’m debating whether to continue next year with the same goal. I think it’s been really good for my stamina and I’m sure it’s been good for the dogs too, but boy is it hard to find the motivation to get out the door most days. You always hear about how it takes a certain amount of time for something to become a habit, but I can honestly say that whether it’s eating right or exercising….no matter how long of a stretch I do either of those things, it would be easier to go back to my old bad habits. Course both the dogs and I would be more likely to need an Austin Veterinarian if we go back to our former exercise, or lack thereof.
The last few weeks they’ve been moving cows from one pasture to another, so walking has been interesting. One of the days a calf got separated from the herd that was moved. It was really weird because the next day when we went for our walk, there he was, all by himself in the field. I don’t know how he got separated, (more importantly, why the herders didn’t notice), but the poor little guy sure couldn’t figure out where the rest of his herd had gone. Fortunately, we were able to get someone to stop that was driving by and he happened to know who the calf belonged to. So the calf is back with his herd now, safe and sound. No need for us to do a search for an Annabella Veterinarian, an Austin Veterinarian or anything else. It all just worked out on it’s own. I love it when things work out.
Aww the poor calf. Im so glad you were able to help him. Wow, congrats on your walking all those miles.
WOW! That’s a lot of miles. I’m glad you said that it still wasn’t easy even after all these months because sometimes I think I am the only one that doesn’t make a habit of exercise no matter how much I do it!
