Another Day, Another Walk, More Bad Weather

So, I have apparently picked the worst week of spring to start getting back into the routine of walking the dogs. LOL Today I had Zoe and Dare with me, and the weather actually looked pretty good…when we started out. I had my camera and I got some pictures of the views from pretty much all directions.

First the mountains to the Southeast of our house…

Now the view to the Southwest of our house…

and the girls at the start of the walk…

And then, I looked to the North and this is what we saw…

You might think that I would have turned around at that point, but NO!!! I just kept walking and we saw this really awesome pair of canadian geese that were about to land on the pond that we were walking past. I had to try to get pictures of that. Well, my camera battery lasted for one shot. LOL So you just have to take my word for it that they were beautiful.

We were about 1 1/2 miles into the walk, when the wind picked up and it got dark, fast. We turned around to head for home, but it was too late. We walked, and ran the 1 1/2 miles back in hail, which then turned to snow and freezing wind. The most irritating part was that I forgot that Zoe thinks that if I start running, she should accompany that game with barking. Ugh! That seemed to encourage Dare that this was some grand game and that maybe she should try to trip me by grabbing my pant legs and shoelaces. I finally decided that we weren’t going to get home without being cold and wet anyway, no sense running to get there. I really didn’t have this in mind when I was hoping for fast weight loss.

Anyway, we made it home and the snow let up enough that I grabbed my other camera, just to show you that I’m not making this ridiculous story up. Do you think I’ve convinced the neighbors that I’m crazy yet?

Spectacular scenery – you really look at views like that all the time? Amazing! But I wouldn’t have enjoyed the walk home in the wind and snow – those dark clouds looked very menacing! Still I’m glad you got out there for a walk again!

Darn, it Marie, why did you have to post the MOUNTAINS? I was in Provo or Orem for 22 years, with a view of Mount Timpanogas outside my front window for many of those years. Now I’m in the flatland part of Virginia. But the compensation for being here is that now I own my own place and get to have a sheltie. :)

Cheryl & Trudy,

Thanks for stopping by. Sorry, I have to post the mountains here and there and remind myself why in the world I put up with living here during the winter. LOL The views in Orem and Provo are gorgeous. But I think I like it down here a little better, since there are less people. :-)

Very nice that you have your own place now and room for a sheltie. I think I really could live just about anywhere if I have my dogs.
