One trick is to make a list of three things that must get done for that day. Only worrying about three things seems to make life less stressful for me. I have a hard time myself. And balance is a hard thing to achieve! I still like FB but I'm having to reduce my own time on it as well. It's way too much of a time sink. And I don't read as many blogs as I'd like to... don't have the time! I guess that's one thing I don't do. I limit myself (sort of and not always successfully) to looking at all the blogs in the a.m. while I eat breakfast, and then maybe not looking till right before I got to bed. Unless I'm bored with housework, then I'm back on and if that happens I'm DOOMED to get nothing done! I don't read all of FB, just the first page or so, so I miss a lot but that's ok. I say, limit your time, like you would for a kid who watches too much TV. And geeze, if you're doing more rooms you're already WAY more productive than I am!!! Mom has 3 friends (she was basically forced into starting her account) but she totally saw how bad it would be to go on there and have people update you many times throughout the day! Blogging is a huge addiction in itself for mom - see she is already back here checking to see if you commented to her and commenting to you again! Don't ever go on Twitter!!! LOL! I wasn't going to just back off gradually I knew better than that. PS The dog room project started a snowball effect. The whole rest of the house looks so shabby compared to it that I started another room. Plus I had left over paint and couldn't let it go to waste. But mom hates winter too. It's cold and dark all the time. Something around 68 days until spring now. But at least the days are getting a little longer - here it is still light out at 5:45PM (it used to be dark at 5:20). So we are moving in the right direction. I know what you mean about the computer and reading blogs. Mostly it inspires us. But sometimes it takes so long to read/comment and after that we don't feel like blogging ourselves.
