I know I sometimes forget to appreciate the truly simple things. I think animals in general are great reminders for us, of how much enjoyment we can get from something that we don’t even notice. Puppies are especially talented at this. They seem to be able to find so much fun and satisfaction in things we take for granted.
For instance when Layla first came to us one of her very favorite toys was an empty plastic fruit/pudding cup. She’d bat that around the house and pounce on it, and have the greatest time. Now Dare has decided that empty plastic water bottles have the same kind of enticement for her. LOL I got some video of her playing with the plastic water bottle the other day.
Then I walk outside yesterday and Dare has taken the big water bucket that I was rinsing and getting ready to refill, and she’s flipped it over upside-down and is playing Circus Sheltie on top of it. It was a hoot. I just thought it was such a good reminder to take time to enjoy some of the simple things, I had to share.
Dare is darling! She’s getting big fast! Mom wishes she had taken more video of me as a pup doing ordinary pup stuff! I still like to play with water bottles and fruit cups! And ice cubes and toilet paper rolls! You’re totally right – it is the simple things we need to remember and appreciate!
Man. You keep showing all these cute puppy videos and pictures and I’ll end up with another puppy! LOL!
.-= Dawn´s last blog .. =-.
Wow, Dare is really growing. I adopted the bi-black girl from Eden and Thor’s litter and she now lives with me and my older rescue girl. I would love to share puppy stories. Look up Carol Norem (my old name, recently changed) on FaceBook.
Ricky,
I wish I had more video of my other dogs too. I just didn’t have a camera that made it so convenient as I do with the younger dogs. I don’t have nearly as many pictures of the older dogs either, pre-digital.
Dawn,
I don’t think I can guarantee that I’ll stop with the pictures or the videos. You’ll just have to close your eyes. LOL
Hi Carol!
I’m so glad to hear from you! I would love to keep in touch. My friend Cynthia and I got to meet your little girl briefly when we went to Judy’s to get Dare. She was a doll! It would be so fun to be able to get them together again as they get older!
