Layla Agility Video

Layla and I have been working on her agility since we’ve got the equipment back out in the field, and she’s doing really well. My mom was here today and so I took advantage of having someone here to video her run. So…here it is. We still have a lot of training to do, but we’re having fun!

P.S. don’t look at all the darn weeds coming up in the field. I’m trying to keep on top of them, but it’s tough. LOL

  1. Wow – Layla is doing great!! I love when she sat down on her dogwalk contact! so cute! She totally already knows her job out there. How old is she now? She’s smaller than me, I think! Thanks for sharing the video!

  2. Thanks Ricky! Layla sitting on the dogwalk wasn’t really the plan. (maybe I should say it wasn’t my plan, maybe it was hers all along) LOL We’ve been working on having her hit her target at the end for a 2o/2o but she ended up hitting her target and then sitting on this run. Still got work to do on that one.

Layla is between 10-11 months old now. I’d bet she is still smaller than you, she’s only 10 1/2 or 11 tall at the shoulder, and only weighs about 7-8 lbs. She’s a tiny little girl.

  3. Dear Ricky,

I dont’ know why I always have trouble just saying thank you to a compliment, and not pointing out everything that could’ve been better. :-P I should have just said “Thanks, I am really thrilled with how well she is doing too!” It’s just a weird personality quirk I have, that I need to work on. Anyway, I really appreciate your encouraging comments! Thanks again.

  4. My mom sometimes has the same trouble with accepting a compliment – I think it’s a given that there’s always something to be worked on (that’s part of the fun of learning) but it’s also great to realize the good things that are happening!

Layla is a tiny little girl – I’m 14″ and 15 lbs. so I would feel like a giant next to her – LOL!

  5. Heya Dawn,

Yeah, Layla’s a teenie, tiny little girl for sure. I think she pretty much stopped getting taller at about 6 months. In fact, she still can run under Twist’s belly when she wants to. People keep asking me if she’s mixed with a Papillon or something, but she’s just Layla. LOL

  6. I just love the way you have everything set up. I looks like great fun for all involved. I wish I had that much room to work with. Good Job.
    Cheers
