Whose House Is This?

We are starting into the second week with Rogue gone. The change in the house was noticeable from day one. I know from past experience that when we used to do alot of fostering for CARE, one dog can certainly change the dynamics in the house a great deal. I guess I just didn’t realize how much Rogue was affecting things here.

The biggest change overall is that the rest of the dogs are now so quiet! I feel like I’m in the wrong house sometimes. LOL Feeding times have settled into a much more relaxed routine, instead of a frantic bark fest. Randy can come and go with just a simple happy greeting from the dogs, instead of a barrage of anxious barking, lunging and pacing from Rogue. Zoe is staying out in the living room with us most evenings now instead of retiring to her crate to be by herself. It’s been really interesting…

It is strange how one dog coming or going can change the whole dynamic of a house. Quiet is a good thing… what a hard situation.

Boy it’s hard to know what to do isn’t it?! How is Rogue doing at her temporary home?

Seems like a little break from Rogue has turned into a good thing – it’s just too bad though. Yes, we also want to know how Rogue is doing……

    Dawn,

It’s so much harder than I can ever express in writing! Thankfully, I really trust that Barbara and Jim are able to give me an unbiased evaluation of what they feel Rogue needs.

As for how Rogue is doing, she is being cared for well. She is still adjusting to things at their house, but I expected that would take a while. I will write a short post about it today for everyone who is interested.

    Ricky,

Yes, the break has had a larger impact on the house than I expected. I guess maybe I shouldn’t have been as suprised as I was, but nevertheless…

Rogue is doing ok with Barbara and Jim. She takes a while to settle into any change in her environment, but they told me yesterday that she was even starting to play with one of the other dogs in the house, so that’s a good sign. Thanks for asking…
