Can We Start Over?

Today is one of those days that you just wish you could have a do-over! I just hate it when a week gets off to a bad start, it’s hard to recover.

First we just got word that one of our friends had to say goodbye to their 14 year old Malinois this morning. He was just one of those dogs that was bigger than life. Even though he was 14, you just kind of expected that he was always going to be around. He had one of those personalities that you just can’t put into words! It would all just be an understatement when it came to him. His passing is just an incredible loss to everyone who had the privilege to know him. :-(

Then I got a call from my husband that they are cutting everyone’s hours back at work. I’m still keeping in mind how fortunate we are to still be employed, but it’s scary…

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of one of your friend’s dogs. :(

I hope everything works out OK for you and your husband, and for all of us! Pretty much all we can do is think positively.

  2. Heya Lindsay!

Yeah, I really hope things pick up at the cabinet shop too. I just have a hard time believing that cutting hours is going to amount to much of a help, but I guess you never know.

  3. So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend’s Malinois….it’s never easy to lose a pet.

Keeping our paws/fingers crossed for your husband’s job. It’s just such a difficult time for everybody.

  4. It’s so hard to lose a pet, even when it’s a friend’s pet. And he sounds like he was a great dog. We are also hoping that things get better sooner than later, and that you don’t have more loss of income.

  5. Aw, Marie. I know how hard it is to lose a friend, whether human or canine, whether a resident of your home or distant. The Rainbow Bridge is no doubt the richer for having a new Malinois to play and keep everybody rounded up.

I’m sorry to hear about the cut in hours; that can’t make things any easier, financially and emotionally. This whole deal is scary as all get out! My job is not one that directly brings in revenue, and I am scared witless that I’ll get an email message saying “So long, and thanks for all the fish. And, by the way, return our property by Friday.”
