Walks and Wildlife

Twice this week when we were walking in the hills by our house we’ve seen a small herd of deer. Both times it’s been between 10 and 20 in the herd. I had my camera the other day, we didn’t get too close, but you can still see them.

We also got to see birds, and of course jack rabbits. Those are the dog’s favorite! I’m not fast enough with the camera to get a picture of them though. LOL

Here’s some shots of the dogs enjoying the walk.

I wish this nice weather that we’ve been having would continue. Sure has been great for walking! :-)

  1. Deer are such majestic animals. We have alot of them around here. And when I say ALOT, I mean alot lot! They are constantly causing accidents and busting into peoples houses. Its a really bad time of year for them right now too.

  2. Good grief! Busting into people’s houses? That’s wild. Our deer cause alot of traffic accidents, but I don’t think I’ve heard of any breaking into homes. LOL I like them best up in the hills like this. :-)

  3. I don’t see many deer around my place.. but we did have a moose visit one morning!

My camera was in the shop then which really really sucked! Of all the times…!

  4. Yeah, I don’t know why my dogs don’t seem all that interested in the deer. I guess it could be that the deer see my dogs coming a mile away and never get very close.

  5. Hey Christy!

I start getting nervous and grabbing leashes when I hear ATV’s. LOL My dogs find those WAY more interesting than the deer.

  6. It’s what I love about living in the countryside. There is an endless amount of wildlife, particularly wild gotas and boar which were sucha problem we had to fence our whole orchard as everything, including the actual trees was getting eaten. It’s amazing seeing the goats(the size of donkeys) walking and jumping up almost sheer cliffs.
