Control Unleashed Seminar

For months now we’ve been signed up for the Control Unleashed Seminar that is coming to Utah. Now it’s almost here! I bought and read this book shortly after it was released and I really was intrigued by the training methods that it presented. It is a training program designed to give you tools to help your reactive dog. (I hate to mention any names…Rogue). LOL
I find the ideas in the book fascinating, but sometimes I learn more quickly when I can actually see what someone is doing rather than trying to picture what I’m reading. So I’m excited that I’m getting the chance to actually see these ideas presented firsthand. I am signed up to audit the seminar on Saturday and Sunday and then I have Rogue scheduled for a private lesson with Leslie McDevitt on Monday.
I’m hoping that we’ll come home from this seminar with some new ideas and some motivation for training. I feel like we’ve hit a big brick wall and I don’t know how to get past it. Ooohhh, I almost forgot. Zoe was specially invited to come and be a “non-reactive helper dog for the seminar”. Cool huh! Let’s hope that she behaves herself.

I concidered going to this but I just couldn’t afford it. Money is just too tight this year.
I hope you have fun and say Hi to Cyn. I know she is excited too!

I’m excited too! The closer it gets the more I am looking forward to it. I think Muffit maybe can be considered a reactive dog.. to a degree, but in a different way than Rogue. I hope we get help for both!
Yeah, I can’t wait! I learn so much better watching than just reading.
I am jealous! I wish I were going! Let us know what you learn. Also, it’s funny how different all your dogs are.

Christy,
I totally understand about the finances. I’m really trying to figure out how much trialing I’m going to be able to do next year. This seminar was just ideal for the problems that Rogue has, so I couldn’t pass it up.
Lindsay,
I’m excited, can’t wait for Saturday! Oh for sure I’ll post about about it when I get home. I probably won’t be back till Monday night, so it may be Tuesday before you see anything.
As for the dogs, it’s true, I don’t have two alike in the whole bunch! Guess that’s nice though. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to take parts of one’s personality though and mix and match them to create the “super dog”! LOL
