The last two days have been kinda rainy and windy here. Not exactly the kind of weather that entices me to work with the dogs much outside. I know…I’m a wimp. So after Rogue and did our relaxation work in the morning in somewhat of a drizzle of rain, I decided that we’d just play inside for the evening. I haven’t played with the spoons in a while, so I pulled them out of our training bag. The dogs love playing with the spoons! Our obedience instructor suggested that I work with Rogue on spoons since it’s a good way to get her thinking. 
It’s simple to play. I just put a dab of peanut butter or squeeze cheese on one of the spoons and then set them all out upside-down for the dogs, (sometimes in a scattered pile & sometimes in straight lines). Then I send the dog to the spoons and tell them to “find mine”. Then they sniff through the spoons till they find the one that has the food on it. It’s one of the first steps towards doing articles in Obedience. I’d love to be able to get one of my dogs into Utility level…maybe someday! In the meantime, it was a great way to spend a few minutes together.
